Millennials are poised to become the next major donors. Over the upcoming couple decades, they’re expected to inherit more than $20 trillion in the Great Wealth Transfer from the Baby Boomer generation, and will have five times as much wealth in 2030 as they do today.
A subset of this generation, such as bankers, consultants, and tech workers, are already well-off, heavily invested in stocks and crypto, and increasingly charitably inclined. If nonprofits can learn how to engage them now, they’ll build giving habits for decades to come and boost major giving well into the future.
Watch Patrick Schmitt, the Co-CEO of FreeWill, to learn how the rise of Millennial donors will shape planned and major giving, as well as strategies for securing impactful gifts from this group.
